Purple Ice — Unified Design System
Establishing a multi-brand token architecture, accessible component libraries, and unified design-to-code governance across Student, Teacher, Parent, and Admin portals.
Token Foundations & Multi-Theme Architecture
To support diverse user environments — from elementary students using bright interfaces in daylight to school administrators managing data in high-density night shifts — we structured tokens across three layers:
Global Tier (Primitive)
Raw palette scales, font weights, standard radii, and elevation shadows agnostic of brand context.
Semantic Tier (Intent)
Contextual tokens like --color-surface-raised, --color-brand-accent, and --border-subtle.
Component Tier (Scoped)
Component-specific parameters guaranteeing zero visual regression across platform builds.
Accessibility Compliance
Strict contrast checking across light and dark modes achieving WCAG 2.1 AAA contrast ratios.
Interactive Sandbox & Documentation
The Purple Ice design system includes a live, in-browser interactive showcase where engineers and designers can test token states, explore typography scales, preview interactive components, and export live CSS and JSON definitions.
Interactive Design System Sandbox
Launch the standalone design system app to explore component specs, token inspectors, color swatches, and live previews.
